Cynorkis purpurascens x Habenaria rhodocheila 'Bright Orange' (REO440) - 2" Pot

This is, potentially, our first ever Cynorkaria! Cynorkaria are delightfully odd, combining the unique growth habit of a Cynorkis and the bright colors of Habenaria flowers. Cyn. purpurascens is a small to medium growing Cynorkis with small, lavender-purple flowers. Hab. rhodocheila 'Bright Orange' has flat, well-shaped, neon orange flowers. With such a new breeding line, I am not entirely sure what to expect, but these should have a unique growth habit with mostly pastel purple or peach flowers.

NOTE: While I did demasculate all Cyn. purpurascens flowers on the individual used for this cross, this species does self-pollinate relatively easily. There is a chance these will bloom as Cyn. purpurascens.

The flowers will combine various traits of each parent, each creating its own, unique piece of art! Any standalone pictures show some of the plants that have already bloomed and therefore represent what the hybrid might look like.
