Anthurium ((crystallinum "Black" x magnificum) x 'Jack Frost'/(forgetii x dressleri) F2 - 2" Pot

Anthurium (crystallinum "Black" x magnificum) is an early Scott Cohen hybrid with exceptional, dark colors on large, crystal-veined leaves. Two different pollen parents were used (first Anth. 'Jack Frost' and then Anth. (forgetii x dressleri) F2 a few days later. Anth. 'Jack Frost' is a hybrid created by Pogi of Anth. ('Godray' x crystallinum (Indo select) with unbelievable crystal venation that give some laves a heavily "frosted" look. Anth. (forgetii x dressleri) F2 is a Anth. dressleri dominant cross with dark, velvety leaves. Several of the seedlings are already showing signs of venation and even some variegation on first and second leaves.

The first and second leaf picture show the parents while the remaining pictures show some examples of the seedlings for sale. 

We sell Anthurium seedlings a little bit differently... We randomly select trays to keep before we can see any prominent features that would lead to selecting "hold backs." Everything else goes up for sale, and once plants have been put into the sales sections, they stay there until they're sold. What does that mean? Even if a plant in the sales section ends up displaying extraordinary features, we will still keep it there for someone else to purchase and cherish. Part of the fun of hybridizing and growing plants is to play the genetic gamble, and this is our way of allowing others to play, too!
